Yesterday, news came out that Vodaphone, First Direct, Virgin and the AA are removing their ads from Facebook.   • From what your post described, and not possessing too much outside knowledge of Facebook's advertising scheme, it looks to me like their system is fairly antequated. Arent most ads targeted? If Facebook cannot provide a cutting edge system for connecting advertisers with their target demographic, how do they expect to make money? Its not like they sell anything...
  • Facebook does have a targeted system as I have described in a previous post. See this post:

    Banner ads are not targeted though. Banner ads are one of the cheapest forms of advertising within their network.
