AllFacebook: Facebook Adds Profile Preview Feature

  • jezarnold · 1 year ago
Ok I tried this out.. and I have created my own LIMITED profile, where I put people who I do not want to see my wall or tagged photos of me.

But.. they can! Now the wall doesnt have what anyone has written down, but it did have the comments I made on others photos!! Also all the photos tagged of me could be seen?

    very insightful...

However, this is VERY useful. Now I know what people can see across my profile..

This feature has actually been here for several months; it arrived in the very first public beta for the new facebook. ;)

I agree with the comments by JezArnold. It doesnt work properly.

I think the main reason is that the privacy section for your profile mentions wall posts however what you see in the tabbed area marked "wall" is a combination of wall and news feed all merged into one data stream.

You can manage the News Feed and wall elsewhere in the privacy section however that only allows you to manage them by your entire list, not by specific groups of friends or individuals.

I gave them this idea months and months ago when submitting feedback. I wonder if that's where they got it from.

Yeah, this has been available for a while, but still isn't completely functional. Guess that's why its beta...

While this is an okay feature, it doesnt allow you to view privacy of people you don't know, which is more serious than your friends i believe. I'd rather a friend saw my wall accidentally than someone who i dont know.

I put in a bug request to reflect this missing functionality:
