We've seen the new features... we can't say we're a big fan of it. Always up for a change but these changes do seem a bit drastic... hmm maybe it will grow on us!

You are right that developer will appreciate the general announcement rules but they also start abusing it so end of the user will suffer from unwanted notifications....
