  • I read the new Platform Policy and it does say you can't use invites to unlock features - like get quiz results. At no point does it say you can't use them to earn points in a game.

We give points away for a variety of activities, including Invites, and the way the policy is written, it looks like we can keep doing that.
  • From Paul's post: "new policies apply to existing features as well: for example, not incentivizing requests"

Also, from the policy document: "Applications cannot incentivize users (for example, offer points, virtual or real payments, or a ranking) to grant an additional permission or add or use an Application Integration Point." and "Defined Terms
Application Integration Point means Profile Box, Application Info Section, Application tab, notification email, Feed, requests (including invites), or any other feature of a user profile or Facebook communication channel in which or through which an application can provide, display, or deliver content directed at, on behalf of, or by permission of a user."
  • Oblivion seems inevitable for months of mine (and others) work. This is the right decision for Facebook though.
  • i hoping that this makes applications better and maybe the better applications in a genre to work together

Also it should be made that applications are prohibited to have the same display name or application name as another
Hug Me and Scratch and win are 2 that come to mind quickly - there is multiple apps with these names (i sure there more instances of other names)
