AllFacebook: Facebook Consolidates Request Notifications

    I like the change.

It keeps the main home screen clean.

With all the application requests. It was getting too cluttered for me.

Whoa. You have 227 FB friend request.

This is an excellent move, and long overdue. A constant complaint I heard from people was the clutter of all the requests coming in. There was an animosity building towards the entire platform simply because people were sick of being bombarded by these requests. If the requests aren't seen as such a nuisance anymore, it will help build more goodwill toward the platform...or so I think.

I don't see why developers would be upset by this. I see no reason a priori why this would negatively impact their invite conversion rate.

Think about what's happening: I see I have "10 requests" but I have no idea what. Maybe they're useful, maybe they're not. So I click and scan the list.

Now I'm in a situation where I'm evaluating requests one-by-one in the expanded form. So, e.g., I might see my best friend invited me to some app. Before I'd just see the app until I clicked through, now I don't see even see that.
