I spoke with numerous people in the UK who were able to log on to Facebook over a period of hours yesterday and could see personally identifiable information belonging to other Facebook users. Facebook should be honest with its users and explain exactly how many people may have had their personal information disclosed and offer advice to people to help them understand the risks of uploading sensitive information to sites of this nature.

Re: Facebook Gets An Upgrade

it's 9:51 EST and the "upgrading" message is back up

Re: Facebook Gets An Upgrade

I was having a weird facebook experience this morning and the thought of it being hacked did run through my mind! I am in the UK and I could see into other people in my workplace's inboxes and homepages and they could see into mine. I reported it to Facebook and received the following (somewhat unsatisfactory) response "Thanks for writing in about the messaging problem you encountered with Facebook. This issue should now be resolved. Let me know if you have any further questions". More answers please Facebook, things like this destroy credibility.

Re: Facebook Gets An Upgrade

My feeling is the Pirates/Ninjas application spilled over and caused this.

Re: Facebook Gets An Upgrade

seems to be working again as of 2:30 pm EDT

Re: Facebook Gets An Upgrade

haha...
a world without facebook...for a limited time at least...
scary

Re: Facebook Gets An Upgrade

http://www.mdibb.co.uk/2007/07/31/did-facebook-...

Re: Facebook Gets An Upgrade

get hacked....?

Re: Facebook Gets An Upgrade

What about a pirate attack ?

Re: Facebook Gets An Upgrade

I wonder if we'll ever know what really happened.
