The main difference to me seems to be that people under the age of 25 use facebook and the older crowd uses twitter.

I have twitter on my profile, I don't use twitter to interact with friends at school but more with people from around the world. Sometimes I even put "twitter. see profile" in my facebook status. They should just make it so that a tiwtter, jaiku, pownce etc facebook app can automatically put your tweets or whatever into the facebook status.

Because of Fb status's restricting syntax, I only use it for action, places and moods, while I can use Twitter for random thoughts and mini-blogs.

There is already an RSS feed for status updates ! I use it constantly to keep in touch with my friends, and I encourage them to micro-blog "a la " Twitter. Even with its grammar inflexibility, its still an useful integrated tool.
