AllFacebook: Facebook Tests Boundaries of Privacy

Great article! Sooner or later, application owners will have to become accountable, otherwise Facebook will take the hit (and the credibility loss) in the media.

All I can say is "oops!". I hope that they close this exploit/mistake soon - it sucks that hate groups can use Facebook to harrass people who are to all intents and purposes otherwise acting within the law.

Hence why I have never added a Facebook application. First time I saw that check box saying “Allow this application to know who I am and access my information.” I immediately decided never to use the applications. I've tried to warn my friends but they seem to think being able to bite someone with a zombie icon is more important than protecting their privacy. I just hope that the applications they use don't grant the developers the ability to see the profiles of their friends or my precautions are all for nothing.
