I asked them to remove them and they do not. I don't have a facebook account, nor will I ever. I actually had to hear from someone else that my pictures were on someones Facebook. Clearly it's an invasion of privacy and just another disfunction in society.

Re: Is Facebook Facing A Future Lawsuit?

No facebook is not facing any lawsuits.

I was the first commentor to point out that it was not illegal. Facebook' s term of use had some pretty good lawyers working on it. But my comment had a bad word in it, and the moderator took it down. It should be up again I was told, because I changed the word to something more suitable for the Times.

If anyone wants to see what wrote go here.

www.coolrepublica.blogspot.com

Re: Is Facebook Facing A Future Lawsuit?

I don't think the legal issue will hold, because users must consent to every beacon that is posted. If you don't want it posted just decline the action - no problem.

Re: Is Facebook Facing A Future Lawsuit?

Sorry I can't help with the legal questions. But I do agree that this is overly aggressive advertising and even without knowing that my picture might be used by the advertiser on their "brand page" I would go nowhere near associating myself in any way with this type of marketing. I'm so sick and tired of everything I do being taken advantage of as a marketing opportunity for some money-grubbing corporation.

And I don't wear logos on my clothes either.
