AllFacebook: New Facebook Profile to Launch Next Week

  • Garrett · 1 year ago
I was just playing around in the developer preview and noticed some interesting options in the "Friends" edit box. You can now select how many friends are shown, and even select certain friends to always show. This seems to replace much of the functionality of the popular Top Friends app.

    I love this bit:

"Facebook has clearly prepped the developers"

It seems there is no PHP4 client library available yet, and PHP is the official, supported language of Facebook.

Also, how users opt-in for email is still an open question - 1 week before unleashing this on the world.

This is going to be interesting, sadly with a Chinese proverb definition of "interesting".

unleashing it on the world - well not quite, I would call it 'willing volunteers' LOL (Facebook would have a similar term)

new.facebook.com/profile.php (forces a error) - for the developers this surely will not be 'helpful' and i sure if facebook gives a more firm time applications will press with there New Application designs for then
'Coming Soon' will become Coming July x *

As it did not say Monday 14th July but the W/C 14th July it could also be on 20th July (the date the naive to change developers will be hoping for)

i hope they also do a search inbox on us and not fob off developers and the profiles preview 'fans' by doing a FB Chat gradual roll out of the opt in.

    * for Superwall, Funwall etc and applications that have a Facebook alternative coming soon might be RIP day!
